- Choose healthy pumpkins with strong stems. If you damage the stem the pumpkin will not last as long.
- Soak your pumpkin in a tub of icy water to firm up the flesh both before and after carving.
- Put petroleum jelly on the cut edges of the pumpkin so they won't shrivel or dry out.
- Cut the bottom off of the pumpkin instead of the top to clean out the seeds:
- You'll never have a wobbly pumpkin again.
- Say good-bye to burned fingers.
- Just set the pumpkin over the light source.
- No more frustrations from trying to get the lid back on right.
- The lid will never fall inside the pumpkin again.
