Get Your Goat

Ever wonder why annoying someone is called getting his goat? For reasons that are unclear, the presence of a goat can have a calming effect on a horse, and this fact has been used by horse trainers in the past to calm high-strung animals. Once quieted in this manner, a horse becomes very agitated if the goat is taken away.

[what ever floats your goat...]

This little tidbit is from Ever Wonder Why by Douglas B. Smith. I found it on the LDS Living Newletter I get via e-mail every Monday → Saturday. There is something new and interesting everyday. This is the format:

Since you are always at his side, you must be the ever-present calming force!
