sunday reflections:

:: relief society ::

we had ward conference last week so we had our teachings for our time lesson today. we discussed the talk ..good . better . best.. given by
dallin h. oaks. [2007 october conference]

what struck me today as important was this quote:

to our hundreds of thousands of home teachers and visiting teachers. i suggest that it is good to visit our assigned fa
milies. it is better to have a brief visit in which we teach doctrine and principle. and it is best of all to make a difference in the lives of some of those we visit.

that is going to be my goal as i strive to fulfill my callings...

:: sunday shool:: 1 nephi: 12-14

who has your heart is more important than who has yo
ur records.

i need to make sure that my heart belongs to god and be wary of the great and abominable church that is anything that leads me away from god.

:: sacrament meeting :: testimonies

the last testimony borne related an exp
erience of a sister who attended the st. louis temple dedication.during the four.hour drive and the dedication she kept thinking of her worthiness to be there. during president hinckley's talk. he paused and said out of context that everyone there that day was worthy to be there.

our closing hymn was: we thank thee. oh god. for a prophet

as the song began. everyone rose to their feet and tears flowed freely. it is a sabbath day i will always remember...

[yes. that is the order of our sunday meetings]
