sunday reflections:

:: relief society :: repentance

repentance is a gift. and through repentance we can feel joy . hope . peace of mind . deep gratitude . and the weight of conscience being lifted from our souls.

repentance is not punishment, guilt, or suffering. these things come before repentance when pride prevents us from admitting we are wrong. putting off repentance leads to dispair . depression . discouragement . and suffering.

satan can lead us to procrastinating our repentance by whispering in our ears that we are not worthy of repentance or that what we have done wrong is do big deal.

we can only repent for ourselves and should never put off accepting this precious gift our savior has given us.

:: sunday school :: 2 nephi 26:10

and when these things have passed away
a speedy destruction cometh unto my people... for the
reward of their pride and foolishness
they shall reap destruction.

pride is very hard to see in ourselves but easy to see in others.

when we get caught up in the pride of flaunting position and possessions. and listening to the flattery of others. we need to ask ourselves who willbe at our funeral. that will tell us where our hearts should be.

in preparing to serve a mission. keep in mind these four principles:

1. know that you have the power and authority of god.
2. allow the holy ghost to be your constant guide.
3. remember that obedience is the way.
4. there are people out there waiting for you.
