Fifth of Msay

Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day
but it should be...
The 5th of may is not an American holiday
but it should be...

On May 5, 1852, 4,000 Mexican soldiers defeated the
French army of 8,000 soldiers at Puebla, Mexico,
100 miles east of Mexico City.

The French army was supplying the Civil War Confederacy
with arms and ammunition, because they planned to
take over the divided United States after their
their supposed take-over of Mexico.

The U.S. Union army supplied weapons and training
necessary for the Mexicans to defeat the French.

Who knows what would have happened had the French won,
other than we would all be speaking French today.

That is why Cinco de Mayo is such a party.
A party that celebrates freedom and liberty...
