This is one of my favorite chick flick movies...
I had never even heard of fried green tomatoes until I saw the movie, and knew for sure that it was something I never wanted to try!
But a few years ago, while driving to New Mexico, we stopped for lunch at a place called The Whistle Stop Cafe and had some Fried Green Tomatoes...
Now, I want to invite some girlfriends over to watch the movie and eat some of these...
Slice unripened green tomatoes. Dust with flour mixed with salt and pepper. Then dip in a mixture of one beaten egg and 1 tbsp. milk. Coat in combination of 2/3 part finely ground cornmeal to 1/3 part flour with salt and chili powder. Pan fry in 2 tbsp. butter and olive oil. Eat hot...~ TAWANDA ~

The first and only time I've had fried green tomatoes was last year in North Carolina....I fell in love!
