Arrrr

Today is
Talk Like a Pirate Day...

Why do we need an international Talk Like a Pirate Day?
Because it's fun to talk like a pirate!
It's that simple...

In other words,
silliness is the holiday's best selling point.
The point is
there is no point...

Here are five basic talk like a pirate words.
Learn these and you can face
Talk Like a Pirate Day
with a smile on your face and parrot on your shoulder...

Ahoy: hello.

Avast: stop and give attention.

Iye: why yes, I agree most heartily with
everything ye or I just said or did.

Aye, aye: I'll get right on that, sir,
as soon as me break is over.

Arrr can mean: Yes, i agree; I'm happy; my team
is going to win;
I saw that television show; or
that was a clever remark
you or I just made,
and those are just a few possibilities.

P.S. Arrr is often confused with Arrrgh which is, of course,
the sound you make when you sit on a belaying pin.

Now, if you, your family, and friends
really
want to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day,
get yourselves on over to
Treasure
Island
(aka Wasatch
School @ 1080 N 900 E, Provo) for
some swashbuckling adventures. It's the annual Fall
Festival from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will
be food, games, the soda bottle walk, as well
as the big silent auction. Come have some
fun and find a hidden treasure...

Ever since I've lived here in Provo I've always wanted to go to the fall festival at Wasatch! No, I don't know any children who go there (well, a few in my ward), but it just looks so fun! Maybe Matt and I will go...I bet my mom would love it too! Hmm....maybe we'll see you there!
