Sunday Reflections

Ask in Faith - Elder David A. Bednar:
Meanigful prayer requires both holy communicaiton and consecrated work. Prayer is essential for our spiritual development and protection. Asking in faith can make our prayers more meaningful. We need to learn to plead and then perform. Communications needs to be followed by righteous action. Prayer is a privilege.
Born Again - Elder D. Todd Christofferson:
Spiritual rebirth originates with faith in Jesus Christ, by whose grace we are changed. This change happens gradually over time. The mighty change that happened to the people of King Benjamin and Alma were remarkable, not typical.

:: Sunday School :: 3 Nephi 17-19

Verses 17-19 put the grease in the gears as far as relevance to us in our times. No one is baptized until verse 19 when the disciples are baptized, yet the Savior administers the sacrament to the people because they are worthy to receive it. The Holy Ghost can come to a pure person. The sacrament represents the body and blood of the Savior. The blood represents the mortal, and the resurrected body represent the spiritual.

Sister Harper: Individual Worth - Every person is a child of God. Each person has something unique and special to offer. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. [Eleanor Roosevelt]
Sister Pope: Whenever the the sealing power fo the priesthood has been given to men on earth, the blessings of temple marriage have been realized.
That Proclamation on the Family helps us realize that celestial marriage brings greater possibilities for happiness than does any other relationship. While salvation is an individual matter, exaltation is a family matter. [Russell M. Nelson, October 2008]
Brother Cunningham: My grandmother Henry was born four years before the Salt Lake Temple was finished. When I did baptisms for the dead at the age of 8, there were twelve temples. Now there are over 100 temples. In just four generations the temples are dotting the earth.
