On Memorial Day, in America, we honor military
men and women who have died while
serving our country.

We honor those who have given their all

throughout American history.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration

Day and was celebrated after the Civil War.

Congress made Memorial Day a

federal holiday in 1971.

The President of the United States places a

wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier at Arlington National
Cemetary in Virginia.
