Artisan Bread

On Mother's Day, I was in Dallas with my daughter-in-law and two grandsons. Tiffany's sister, Liz, made the most delicious, and easy bread. I made the same bread for dinner yesterday.

Here is the recipe:

3 cups flour
¼ teaspoon yeast
1 ¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups warm water

Mix the four ingredients together. Cover and let raise 12-18 hours. Pat and fold the dough on a floured surface. Let raise 30 to 60 minutes while the oven is pre-heating to 500ยบ. Place the dough in a large, round or oval Dutch oven that has been oiled. Cover and back for 30 minutes. Remove lid and back from 5 to 30 more minutes or until bread is brown on top. You can also bake the bread in a pre-heated crock pot.

The bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside,

and it's all gone...

Do you cook it in the crockpot on low or high??

I'm sure it is on high, because it is supposed to be at 500 degrees. The crock pot would need to be at least a 5-quart, if not bigger, I would think. Or, you could divide the dough into two loaves.Hope that helps...
