Dunking Daisies

I love the idea of submerging whole flowers in water instead of just the stems. Not only is it beautiful, it helps keep flowers from drooping and withering in the hot summer weather.

Place your favorite flowers (either bunches or single stems) into a vase that is tall enough to just cover them. Fill the container with room temperature water until the flowers are submerged. Replace the water every other day and the buds will stay perky for up to a week.

This type of arrangement is great for both simple home decor and elegant events such as a wedding. You can even float small candles on top of the water...

Note: If your flowers float, tie the stems together with light-colored string and press and rock into the center to weight the bouquet down.
