Happy Go Lucky - Part 11

Research shows that happy people are healthier, more successful, and more creative. And with the right tools, being happy is well within our control. So go ahead and try this strategy for bringing more joy into your life:

Teens and Happiness

A 2007 poll conducted by MTV and the Associated Press asked 1,280 young people between the ages of 13 and 24 what made them happy—and the number-one answer was a pleasant surprise for parents. More than watching television or hanging out with friends, their top answer was spending time with family—and 73 percent of respondents said their relationship with their parents made them happy. In fact, almost half of those surveyed named one or both parents as their heroes.

In addition to family time, studies show that teens who volunteer have a more positive attitude and higher self-esteem than those who don’t, and are much less likely to be involved in teen pregnancies or violence.
