Points to Remember

Worldwide Leadership Training

The family is central to the Plan of Salvation.
Satan's first priority is to destroy the family.
In the Sacred Grove, Joseph Smith saw the family unit of God the father and his son. Jesus Christ.
The Family - A Proclamation to the World is doctrinal and contains revelation.
A husband and wife are responsible to love and care for each other and for their children.

The Lord did not tell us it would be easy, but that it would be possible.
A good marriage should include an unselfish companionship that progresses.
Thurber: Love is what you go through together.
It isn't about who is right but what is right.
Having children is hard work, and we need not be afraid of that.
The family comes first. (Write it on the inside of your glasses.)
Prayer, home evening, and scriptures study should be part of our family pattern, and should not be taken for granted. it is very fulfilling to see our children carry on those patterns.
Our children should not have hear things at church that they have not already learned at home.
All of this points to the temple. The temple is such a blessing in our lives. All of these principles of truth and the patterns of life lead to the temple because that is where we become eternal families.
As parents. we should not carry a burden of guilt
for the decisions our children make.
Never give up, keep trying, pray often, and seek guidance. The Atonement of Jesus Christ will take care of it all in the end.
The family focus needs to be considered in all that we do in the Church.
To magnify a calling can mean less not more.
Focus on the people not the program.
At mealtime, we need to sit down as a family and dine.
We cannot be yoked with the world when we are making eternal decisions.

Our families should be united in purpose and love.
Our homes should be a haven.
Nothing can take the place of family life.
Set an example of love for our children: Love of each other; Love of Church; Love of Fellow Men; Love of the Lord.

Three Guidelines:
1. Pattern of prayer.
2. Homes should be a library of learning.
3. Legacy of love.

No matter the makeup of our families, if we following this guidance we will be blessed.
