One Small Step for a Man, One Giant Leap for Mankind

40 years ago today, Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Mission Commander, Neil Aiden Armstrong, was the first astronaut to set foot of the moon, followed by Lunar Module Pilot, Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin, while Command Module Pilot, Michael Collins orbited above...

I remember watching the moon landing, in our living room, on the black and white TV. It was 6:17 p.m. MDT, when the lunar module landed on the moon.

At 8:56 p.m.MDT, Armstong stepped onto the moon. While we watched, we could see the moon outside our picture window.

Where were you on July 20, 1969...

I remember watching this with my family in our family room on our black and white tv too! Except we were in San Diego. I really love that we all thought of those astronauts as heros. I still feel that "awe" when I hear their names spoken -- those were good heros to have, don't you think? Really good memories.
