Make Your Own Drumsticks

Make your own drumsticks in any flavor you want
and get the kids to help!! Here's what you'll need:

  • Sugar ice cream cones
  • Ice cream in your favorite flavors
  • 2 bottles magic shell to cover 6-9 cones
  • (or go here to make your own magic shell)
  • Nuts (optional)

  • Before preparing cones, be sure to read the label
on the Magic Shell and SHAKE VERY WELL!!
(An egg carton works well for balancing the cones.)

Drizzle Magic Shell into the cones and swirling to coat.
(For an extra treat, add a maraschino cherry or
frozen berry to the bottom of the cone.)

Pop 'em in the freezer for a good 10 minutes.
(While you're waiting, take the ice cream
out of the freezer to let it soften up.)

When the ice cream is nice and melty,
wrap your cones in wax paper and cut tops
to about 2 inches above the edge of the cones.

Fill cones with ice cream to within 1/2 inch of
the top of the wax paper. Return the cones
to the freezer for a few minutes while you
chop nuts for the top (optional).

Remove cones from freezer, pour a small amount
of Magic Shell on top of the cones and quickly.
Return cones to freezer to get really firm.

Wrap in decorative paper to make awesome party treats.

    Optional Chocolate Centers

Drumsticks sometimes have a magical chocolate center.

To make the chocolate spears, wrap wax paper or
parchment paper around a pencil to form a
spear shape and tape it. Fill the spear
    with Magic Shell and freeze.

After wrapping cones with wax paper, fill with melty ice cream
to the top of the cone. Unwrapped the chocolate spears and
insert into the center of the cone. Finish filling cone with
ice cream to 1/2 inch from the top edge of the
wax paper. Continue as per recipe.
